Late season Lion

In my opinion, the Lions is one of Vancouver`s most beautiful peaks. Its two distinct humps can be seen through out the city. It constantly beckons to be climbed.

The last time I headed up was in the summer of 2009. It was one of my last farewell excursions before I left for Korea.

The Lions in the summer. 15 km round trip. 1280 metres elevation gain. View: Absolutely awesome.
During the winter it looks like this. A bit more intimidating and a lot more beautiful.

This was my first winter ascent up the West Lions. It required more gear and an earlier start, but I can`t think of a better way I`d rather spend a Saturday afternoon.
